About This Course

Where and When

Lecture: Mondays 10:10 am-1:00 pm in OI 5170 (that’s the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education)

Note: we won’t necessarily use the full 3 hours, but I’ve reserved the time slot in case discussion runs over.

Instructor Office Hours: Fridays 10-11am in Pratt 290F. (That’s the D. L. Pratt Building, not the E. J. Pratt Library.)

Piazza, Quercus, etc.

We’ll use Quercus for nonpublic materials (e.g. homework solutions) and to send announcements to the class. You should be automatically enrolled if you’re registered for the course. (This will be set up shortly.)

Piazza will be available for discussions, but participation is optional. The signup link will be posted to Quercus.

Assignments and Grading

Assignments for the course include two written homeworks, a paper presentation, and a final project. The marking scheme is as follows:

• 20% Two written homeworks (due 2/7 and 3/20)
• 20% Paper presentation
• 10% Two paper critiques
• Final project
  • 10% Project proposal (due 2/14)
  • 40% Final project report (due 4/10)
